DINO FUNNIES #1 (ed. by George Olsen)

this is an anthology of underground comics "by young people for younger people". In other words, it's comics for kids, but made outside of the codified system of children's publishing. Combining a DIY self-publishing ethos with highly imaginative material for a young audience made so much sense to me when George first explained the project that I couldn't stop grinning. The result is a really inspiring collection that I believe will make any reader want to start drawing immediately by the time they're finished, regardless of age.

Featuring work by Floyd Tangeman, Owwi Lee, Minnie Slocum, Tana Oshima, David Cardoza, Jordan Lisicky, George Henao Olsen, Ashton Carless, Max Burlingame, Harry S. Robins, Alyssa Abbleberry, Ana Pando, James Collier, Mara Bailey, and Gustavus Dirks.

Worth mentioning that George is the subject of a lengthy interview in my anthology Blackout Book, much of which regards Dino was conducted just after he picked it from the printer. BB and Dino also share two contributors in Tana Oshima and my Cashiers Du Cinéma co-editor David Cardoza, and were released Autumn of 2025, making them sort of companion pieces ? (in my book at least)
